Lou and I were going off-topic this evening talking about jobs so I've created a thread for job talk!

I worked on Saturdays and summer holidays in a fruit and veg shop when I was 16 until I was 18.
I had a holiday job the summer I finished school on a summer scheme for learning disabled children.
I have worked in a hospital laundry (awful), Hospital kitchen (ok), Petrol filling station (awful), solicitor's office (not too bad), and lots of different government offices as I'm a Civil Servant.

I know that's a lot but I've been around for a few more years than most of you!

What sort of jobs / careers do you have or do you want to have when you're finished studying?

Also volunteering at a summer scheme for people with disabilites.
In the future, I would like to be a counsellor (sp ), but more specifically want to be a therapist for people with eating disorders, cuz its something very close to my heart :)

Used to work in a charity shop on Saturdays for 6 or 7 months.
No job atm- can't really get a proper part-time job until next year because I'm not 16 yet so I don't have a national insurance number.
Don't know what I want to do after school. Maybe something like phsycology (sp?) . :)

Oh cool :)

I don't really mind not having a job- it means I don't have to pay for my clothes and stuff yet

Well for a while I worked with a barn dance band, but that got really tiring, especially when I started youth orchestra as well, also there was some... urm... tension, shall we say, within the band that I really didn't want to get caught up in.
Over the summer I'm hoping to go busking a few times with some friends, because I now don't have any money at all
I've now possibly got a job lined up for next year, playing piano for a childrens' choir, but I'll need to see how it fits in round college.
In the future, I know for definate that I want to work in music, but at the moment I'm not quite sure what. I'd really like to be in a folk band, but I'm not sure how likely that would be... Also thinking about music therapy or going in to recording/music technology (I got my own little recording desk thingumy for my birthday today :D ) Also know I will have to probably fall back on doing some instrumental teaching and if it all goes to pot then my back up plan is to teach maths... but I don't really want to do that :|
