Somewhere else it says that Gemma Wardle is playing Eponine, so worth checking before booking tickets. Brilliant news if it's true. I've never seen a play / concert / musical in Fort Regent, but St Helier is a great little town and Jersey is well worth visiting for anyone who hasn't been before.
Yay! I heard about this casting earlier today ! And it certainly doesn't seem to be a rumour! It's a concert version (which has been planned for a while) and it's in Jersey (yes, the island) because Victor Hugo, the author of the book spent some time there while he was in exile
So exciting!!! Especially since I've thought since during the auditions episodes that she's be perfect for Eponine, and then she went and mentioned multiple times about how much she'd love to play that part! Now I just hope that she actually will be cast as Eponine in the West End!
It says somewhere that the casting was announced before it had actually been confirmed (or something ) and that is why some people thought Gemma Wardle would be playing the part. But as it is, the cast looks amazing - Phil Cavill was great when I saw him as Valjean, Michael McCarthy is well known for being one of the best Javerts, and Siobhan McCarthy was amazing when I saw her in Blood Brothers! Sorry for the rambling, but this is just such great news!
Unfortunately it's too short notice and I really can't get there, but I'd LOVE to see this production of it! (20th and 21st march) If anyone else has any chance to see it, seriously do! The musical is amazing (and has been done before as a concert and really the music is so powerful that it works flawlessly) and this cast sounds excellent! Now don't you live down south, Katzie?

Now it's time for me to not understand anything.
Niamh is Eponine in Les Miserables in Jersey on the 20th and 21st March? Is that right? There's no way i can get there to see her but Zippy is excited so i'll get excited too... *ahem*... WOO HOO!!! Go Niamh! Go Niamh! Go Niamh! *does the Niamh dance* I know it's a role she wanted to play so it's good news and hopefully she'll get to do it on the West End... yes that's right, i've just copied what Zippy said! Though i do know she has mentioned it'd be a great part so i'm really pleased. She's doing great. I really wish she'd keep us a little more up to date on her website.

I think this is right yep Just checked my email and I got some info emailed to me a few days ago, so came straight on to mention it...little bit too late but oh well It says:
"Milton Morrissey are thrilled to announce that Niamh Perry has joined the cast of Les Miserables in Concert in the role of Eponine. She joins the cast of 18 leading international West End and Broadway artists already in place for this phenomenal and unprecedented event. Niamh was a leading finalist in the BBC's major primetime show I'd Do Anything, and is rapidly becoming established as one of the West End's most exciting up and coming leading ladies. She appears in Les Miserables in Concert by special personal arrangement with Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, with whom she is currently working on the highly anticipated sequel to Phantom of the Opera.

Does that imply then that she'll definitely be in Phantom 2? I'd sort of hoped this meant she might be in the West End production of Les Mis... (sorry, not quite sure what you mean Ricky - she would simply have to be cast straight into Les Mis on the West End when the cast changes in June)
Big congrats to Niamh on this news. I had the priviledge of being just feet away when she performed 'On My Own' at the Belfast Proms and she was incredible. I do hope someone here manages to see this but it certainly isn't the most accessible venue.
Exciting news as well about Phantom 2 -- will definitely be keeping an eye on this story.
Did anyone hear anything of the recent Belfast charity concert that Niamh & Rachel appeared in?
Katzie, Jersey is about 90 miles south of the south coast, if that makes sense, just off France. There are planes from most of the southern English airports & a fast ferry from Weymouth. I used to go there on my boat but I sold it last year so I can't offer you a trip! I don't actually think I'll be going, even though a weekend in Jersey is tempting.
I'm confident Niamh will be appearing in London soon... and I did see her at the proms in Belfast. I haven't heard anything about the charity concert either - nothing new appearing on Google.
I totally forgot the first performance was on Friday!
Well done Niamh for yesterday! I'm sure she was absolutely amazing! She is now an official Eponine! I really really hope some recordings might appear of this, although it's unlikely... photos maybe?
It's pretty much certain that Niamh isn't going to be Eponine in the next West End cast I saw les mis yesterday (amazing once again! ) and a cast member mentioned at the stage door that the current Eponine - Nancy Sullivan - is staying on. I'm please because Nancy is a great Eponine, it was just that I'd been hoping for Niamh to get the role because she's so perfect for it and since she played the part in the concert it seemed possible she might take over in London. But there would have been no opportunity for anyone to audition for the part this year.
