Article from the Eastbourne Herald – Friday, July 11, 2008
“The sun is shining, school holidays are just around the corner and your summer holiday is beckoning so this can only mean one thing – it’s time to talk pantomime!
Eastbourne Theatres this week announced casting for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs which will include I’d Do Anything finalist, Niamh Perry in the title role.
Eighteen-year-old Niamh from Bangor, County Down, rose to prominence performing every Saturday night in the BBC show I’d Do Anything where she sang live to millions of viewers every week.
Niamh left the competition in week eight but Andrew Lloyd Webber said of her future, “I wouldn’t be surprised if she were up for a major leading role when she’s 20”.
Prior to auditioning for I’d Do Anything, Niamh was studying for her A-Levels and had performed with Music Theatre for Youth in productions of Oliver!, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Sweet Charity, Guys and Dolls and West Side Story.
This will be Niamh’s first major role since the competition and will be her first appearance in pantomime.
Joining Niamh in this year’s production will be Martin Knight, back as Eastbourne’s favourite pantomime Dame, and for a third consecutive year Carl Patrick.
With further casting to be announced, theatre bosses say Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs promises to be another feast of traditional pantomime fun with plenty of surprises in store.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is at the Devonshire Park Theatre from December 12 until January 11.
Tickets are priced from £9 to £18 and available from the box office on Eastbourne 412000 or online at www.eastbournetheatres.co.uk”

Thanks miss.scarlet. We'd love to see some pictures. You're so right about Niamh's colouring being perfect for that role. Just felt the need to post this so we can compare later,
Want to bet Niamh looks more like Snow White than Disney's?
