First games of the season (August 8th):

Leicester v Swansea
Leeds v Exeter.

Hahaha! Come on Exeter! ::) I'll be wearing my Exeter shirt that day! :;):  My second team, if you didn't know Ricky. :;): Missing 2 games, home games!!!, when I'm in New York. That's disappointing. But we're away to QPR on October 31st. Good news. Can go to the game on the Saturday and see Niamh on the Friday or Sunday. ::)

I think Exeter are a good little team. They won't be relegated. 13th - 16th I think they'll finish. Leicester and Exeter could have been in the same league. That has NEVER happened before. Still hasn't. Leicester have always been higher. Newcastle away is late August. One of our first games. ::) I won't go. Too far away.

You didn't see/read my post on the last page then Ricky. The last one. :;): Says in it when I'm in New York. :;): ::)

Sounds like a great work experience Jo! It honestly does sound really exciting, even though generally hospital type stuff freaks me out

I hadn't been the zoo in ages either Ben, it was great going back again though, and I still got excited at seeing all the meerkats and lions and giraffes, even though they all looked so sad :'( (well, at least the meerkats didn't)

So you'll be seeing Niamh around November then Ben? It sounds so far away! You should check that she's not scheduled to be off that day, just to make sure. Chances are she isn't, but the actors plan holidays every now and again.

How the hell would i go to New York for one day? 14 hours of flying Ricky, there and back. 5 days my friend. :14:

Already been Ricky. :;): I saw us play Newcastle there in 2004. :14: It's over 3 hours away. Did you realise you were going to St James Park next season too? :;): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_James_Park,_Exeter  True. ::) Actually, seriously you are. http://www.leedsunited.com/page/LatestN ... 03,00.html ::) Like i said before Ricky, Leicester are 9th favourites next season. Very much doubt we'll get relegated. We're too good for that. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/eng ... win-market Hope to play Exeter in the cup. Would be lovely. Never seen Leicester play Exeter. Don't think it's happened in my lifetime actually.

I like zoos Zippy, but i've always said the animals should get LOADS of room. And you had to take a long look into the distance to see them. Would make it nicer, for me anyway. I love seeing the penguins under water. That's VERY cool. ::)

Talked a bit more about it today. We're playing in London on Saturday 31st October. We thought we'd get the train on the Friday morning and see the show on Friday night (30th). See Leicester on Saturday afternoon before coming home. It does seem a long time away. But we'll reach there eventually and it's something to look forward to. Will be a great weekend i hope. Thanks for the tip Zippy. It's certainly something i'll look into before we get tickets. ::)

Jo you're so lucky! when I visited the hospital the most exciting bit was a woman slapping bags of A and O and AB and B blood sachets in front of us, and then later on some other woman showing us the petri dishes with agar and they were growing different bacteria...and a pickled jar of a single 3m long tapeworm (ewww) that came out of someone's bum

I wish I'd gotten to see some of the gorier bits! xD it must be great shadowing a specialist. I'm sooo jealous

Okay, so our school has gotten our (practise/draft) uni applications and gotten a group of proper specialists to come see us today and tomorrow. They're mostly from Queen Mary and University of Greenwich and they're giving us proper interviews (as practise) with our applications in front of them! My interview's tomorrow x_x and I'm so nervous, lol. Everyone says it's easy, they just ask about you and your social life and school stuff, so hopefully mine will be ok. I've got an Irish guy from Queen Mary interviewing me for pharmacology, plus we have to write a 4000-character (not word) personal statement on ourselves by tomorrow afterschool. so much to do! xD and I'm already 60 characters over. Ack!

Oooh when I went to the zoo with school, the most amazing thing I saw was not the elephants or the tigers - but the CAPYBARAS!! That's right! They're like giant hamsters with stumpy legs! SO CUTE XD XD they saw us coming and began scuttling off, so we had to keep chasing them along the barrier for photos.

Have fun in NY, Ben! I've always wanted to go, it sounds like such an amazing place!

Anyways, back to my statement...have a good night, all! :h:

You're already doing your uni applications Katzie? We don't have to get them finalised until next term! (although are the medicine ones meant to be in during the holidays? That would explain it) And we're supposed to be writing drafts of our personal statements, but I have no idea what to write or how to write it :S It's easy to sound insanely stupid, or just a pretentious idiot, but much harder to get the in-between balance that universities want  Good luck with yours though!

And it's finally the weekend! I can't even remember Monday, it seems so far away.

and i want to see Niamh too.

the penguins ae very cool. :D

your statement has to be 4000 words kat? when i did my personal statement for uni it was only 1000 words i think.

Kat, "and a pickled jar of a single 3m long tapeworm (ewww) that came out of someone's bum"  Ewww indeed! How did the interview go? And the statement? I'm sure it wasn't as bad as you thought. :;): :h: Thanks very much Kat. I went to New York last year and loved it! It's my favourite place in the world (and Niamh's too apparently). ::) I hope you get to go one day. I'm sure you will. ::)

Ricky! You think we will draw with Newcastle and you'll beat Newcastle?! How does that work then?! We're a better team than you and you can't argue against that now, you know, with us being in a higher league and all. :;): Yes Ricky, you're favourites to win League One. You were last year weren't you... and the year before. You won't. Us being 9th favourites to win the Championship is great, considering we've only just got promoted from League One. You can't use the excuse of it being a sell out because the stadium holds 39,000 and the average attendance is 23,000. :14: And Ricky you misread, Kat said "write a 4000-character (not word) personal statement" Sorry, it seems like i'm going against everything you said there. Probably because i am.

That sounds really good Jo! ::)

Haha, zoos are great. :) Although I remember going to Dublin zoo ages ago and all the animals there looked so depressed compared to other zoos for some reason. :S

Finished school today :14: So glad exams are over!

Yeah, statements have to be 4000 characters so they can fit into the system thing. Stressful. Not that I've started mine
And Ricky, if you want to see Niamh (and you do seem like a fan, if you don't mind my saying so :;): ) then go see her! Yes, tickets are expensive, but you have the chance to see her in a lead role on the West End for 6 months, so you could pick a time that's good for you, and make a day's trip out of it. There's tons of stuff you can do for free in London while you're there to make the time worthwhile, so it's not like it's an inconvenience :14:

I've also only been on New York once Ben, so I definitely need to go back sometime. And I was noticing how depressed the animals looked in London zoo Amy, so maybe it's just that we're older and notice things like that  I'm so jealous that you're finished school! How did the exams go? Were they GCSEs? (I think that's what you said once but sorry if I'm wrong)

Yeah statements don't have to be in until October-ish this year...I think? But almost ALL of us are n00bs when it comes to personal statements (and in my case, CVs as well! XD) the teachers thought we might as well learn early :/

The interview went great, thanks for asking :D I wasn't nervous and that guy was really nice and informal, although I couldn't answer most of the science questions! he asked me what aspirin does to the body, and what the H and N stood for in H1N1 (aka swine flu) and how the blood is pumped back up the body (that one I knew a bit about: contracting muscles, pulsing of the arteries, flaps in the veins and - apparently! - breathing out too!) but I think it went ok ::D just need to read up more on current science affairs

Ricky ~ lol it's 4000 characters, so in my case it was 715 words, but I tried to put in some suitable long words to make me seem intelligent xD so my wordcount is slightly lower than others'.

Amy ~ Have fun with that looong holiday - I'm jealous xD Can't wait till school finishes, but I'm actually enjoying school atm cos I'm a prefect and we get a special prefect's form room, where we have an xbox and a tv!! It's awesome :D Was playing need for speed yesterday, lol!

The exams went ok gingerbread- some good, some not so good  Physics was impossible!  Doesn't really matter though because I'm not doing it next year. Yeah, they were gcses :)

Zippy is right Ricky. You CAN see Niamh. :;): It took me 6 years to see Travis. For the first 4 of those years, it didn't even cross my mind. Then, when it did, they weren't touring and they didn't do a concert for 18 months. I had to wait until March 2007. The 22nd. That was my first Travis concert. A day i'll never forget! This is a chance to see Niamh Ricky. If you really want to see her, i'm sure you will try your best. :14: ::) We bought the tickets this morning! So i'm off to see Niamh! ::) http://www.delfontmackintosh.co.uk/Tickets/MammaMia.php You can pick your seats from there Ricky. My Mum booked them and she did it from there. Look around Ricky at hotels and think about what you want to do. We have our plan of seeing Leicester and stuff. You make your plan.

Kat, wow, i don't know what any of that means! You clever girl you. Glad it went well. An Xbox in school! An Xbox 360 or the old one? Well, it's school. A Playstation 1 would be cool to have in school.

Well done Amy on the exams! :14: Oooh, i love physics. Though i still can't spell it!

Good luck for the season Ricky. But you Leeds fans (as i've read on the football forums) are all too "we don't belong in this league, we're too big for this league, we shouldn't be in this league" etc etc. Well you are. And i think it's about time Leeds United Football Club realised that. The sooner you do, the better chance you'll have of finally getting out of that league. The players are also at fault. And the club as a whole.

I understand. But London should be a good thing to pull your mate along. :) Who wouldn't be excited about going to London?! ::)

Hmmm... "Leeds are going up... FACT!" Didn't we have to put up with that all through last season? :;): You poo pooed Leicester at the start of last season and look what happened. We finished top baby yeah!

I remember doing the physics gcse last year - the last paper I actually got full marks on, I was so proud xD but the first one didn't go so well. I thought the red shift was the blue shift...which is the exact opposite! so have you chosen your subjects for next year, Amy? Are you going to college or sixth form?

It's an XBox 360 we have at school. It belongs to one of the prefects. We're thinking of briniging in a PS2 too, for crash bandicoot as we have a few fans of that game xD and maybe I can bring in metal slug too if we have a PS2. As prefect we're assigned to one lower school form each (20 prefects, 18 lower school forms so 2 forms get 2 prefects) and we watch over the kids in registration to make sure they don't blow up the place, and show people around the school. It's not much, but we get one heck of a pack of benefits! own form room, tv and consoles (if we bring consoles in), sofas, microwave, fridge, toaster, radio, and we get the love from teachers and our little form, LOL

When are you going to see Niamh, Ben? Don't forget to take loads of piccies :O and a looong review! I think I'll go mid Julyish. Can't wait! ::D

Full marks on a physics paper?! Thats amazing!
 I messed up the red shift question too- hadn't a clue what the question meant!
I'm hoping to just stay at the same school I go to now next year and do irish, english, biology and chemistry. (althought I might still change chemistry/biology to french/RE depending on how the results go if the places aren't already filled :S )

Haha that sounds like a really good school Kat! The teachers must be nice to allow xbox's and playstations in school! At my school everyone's a prefect in upper sixth, and thats normally 100-150 so theres loads of different types of prefects- bus prefects, anti-bullying prefects, library prefects etc.

Have a good time seeing Niamh! ::) And I agree with Kat- write a long review!! :14:

Amy - this holiday after gcses is meant to be the best until you finish school because you don't actually have any work or courses to think about! Enjoy it! (although I'm definitely go for the french/RE option ::) )

And I'm so jealous that you get a xbox in school! But how do you have time to play it?

Where are your tickets Ben? Yay! I'm excited for you! :D Even though this show is probably the second last show in the West End I would see otherwise, I still need to book my tickets  :S

Lol it's only us prefects that get the xbox and ps2 in school, so we're truly priveleged xD we get into school earlier for registration anyway, so we get that time, and break and lunch to play on it, plus we have free periods where we basically don't have lessons and are meant to be study periods, but most of us go on the xbox anyway ::D

I'd go for the science options, Amy xD but then again I'm a science geek! I'm really bad when it comes to literature and language stuffs, so I stick with ye olde maths/science options, lol.

What's "Arcade" at the top of the page all about? Come on Jo, reveal all! Not seen it before... i don't think.

Kat, sounds hilarious. School has went from the worst place on earth to the best place on earth! I think you'll all be seeing Niamh before me! We have it booked for Friday October 30th. Train down on Friday morning, show on Friday night, football in London on Saturday afternoon before coming home after the game. ::) Thanks Amy. :h: We booked our hotel today too.

Zippy, i guess you're asking where we're sitting? :) I believe our seats are in the "circle" yes? That's what it says. And we're row D. Seats 15, 16, 17 (i think). Come and stalk me! It says "The Circle is quite high and steep. Not suitable for vertigo sufferers". Not liking the sound of that. Oh and i'm very excited too, but it seems SUCH a long time away... I have other things i'm madly excited about before that.

Kat, "but then again I'm a science geek! I'm really bad when it comes to literature and language stuffs, so I stick with ye olde maths/science options, lol." You sound like my type of girl Kat. :;): :14:

Ricky, "you were the better team obviously." Woo hoo! I would love to meet Niamh. Whether or not i will, i don't know. I saw the lead singer of Air Traffic the other night with 2 other people but was too nervous to go over and say hello.

It sounds like you're in the elite of your school katzie! We just have two common rooms and a tiny and quite rubbish kitchen for the whole 6th form to share.

Those sound like good tickets Ben! And I'm sure you'll be fine with the height - remember that this warning is for everyone who might see the show, from age 5 to 90  And you should definitely go to the stage door after the show to get Niamh's autograph! You'll regret it if you don't, and you especially have no excuse after the amount of times you've spoken about making the most of opportunities like this :;):
